Roseanne Barr leaves Twitter after racist tirade, Wanda Sykes quits 'Roseanne'

Actress Roseanne Barr went on an exceedingly racist tirade this morning, even for her.

On Tuesday morning, Barr said this of President Obama's former black female advisor Valerie Jarrett: "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." Barr's tweet caused understandable outrage on social media, eventually prompting the actress to quit Twitter. Consulting Producer Wanda Sykes also resigned from the show.

The actress has since apologized in a tweet: "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans," Barr tweeted. "I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste." Read more...
